Am I the only one to question this?

This is the quote from the new governmental reporter for the VDT. I could not make this up.

"Before this job, I really had never dealt with politics, and I feel I've learned so much in the past month. I guess that's really the reason why I fell in love with this job, with reporting -- it's ever changing, ever growing and never dull. And it always goes over well at parties when you say you're the government reporter. Some people think that makes you smart."
